"We have had a wonderful week - great times in the cottage with the fire, and the best selection of books & DVDs I've ever seen! We also enjoyed the breakfast treats! "I want to live here! Beautiful cottage, well decorated and thought of everything. Lovely welcome gift, thank you! It's the little finishing touches that make this cottage perfect, gorgeous setting with so many walks, local pub and owners and staff were so warming/welcoming and best Sunday lunch I have ever had out. Hoping to return often. Thank you."

"Have really enjoyed our staywhich coincided with both our birthdays. We have stayed in numerous cottages over the years and can say that this must be one of the very best. So many extras which go a long way to make this a most excellent choice. We have been out every day for long walks from the cottage, and managed to tire the dogs out, and lovely to come back to spend the rest of the day relaxing by the fire. Will hope to return."

The cottage has been lovely and cosy, after walking Frank and getting soaked through we've sat steaming in front of your fantastic log burner (we know it's August, but it all adds to the holiday cottage experience!) We've enjoyed the welcome from Dick and Lyn at the pub next door and we've been twice to the Butcher's Arms in Clearwell (really nice food!) Thank you for all the provisions you left for us, the sausages and bacon were excellent! Really, really enjoyed it all! Hope to be back next year xx"

"Thank you for a wonderful stay, lovely cottage and fantastic area with lots to do. Saracens Head at Symonds Yat East, very good, pub next door - great Sunday lunch. Ross-on-Wye worth a visit for shopping etc. Great location all round for relaxing with family and dogs. Thanks again."

HELEN, GRAEME & ANNABEL, LINCOLNSHIRE | JULY '11

"Thanks for a great week (our 25th wedding anniversary). Cottage is great in an absolutely beautiful location. Walks were fabulous, ended in the evening by champagne by the quay (and on occasions further along the pasture beyond). Dave and I canoed from Symonds Yat east to Brockweir, which was the best! Kingfishers (17), Sandpipers (many), Dippers (2) and the rapids in various places were great fun. Chepstow, Usk, Tintern and all the surrounding countryside...superb! Highlights of the week...great touches with the bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, butter and wine on arrival...spot on! The excursions to the quayside watching tidal river flow in, stop, then flow out again, watching salmon and trout jumping, Kingfishers flying etc, whilst havng a tipple. Will recommend to everyone and return sometime soon."

PAUL, JAYNE, DAVE & DAWN | JULY '11

"We have really enjoyed ourselves, there is lots to do. Go Ape! is great fun set around a very 'friendly' swimming lake for dogs. Canoeing at Monmouth with a recommended stop-off at the Saracens Head which is right on the river, delicious food! Landlord in pub next door very friendly. Local beer, Kingstone, very good. Our first time in this area and we shall come back for sure. Word of warning: watch out for horseflies in the woods, got a very painful bite!! Loved all the DVDs and interesting books, an amazing selection."

PETER, CLAIRE, THOMAS & DAISY DOG, RUTLAND | JULY '11

"Had a wonderful stay, beautiful cottage and surroundings, 3 to 4 days not long enough. Local people very friendly. Special thanks to the Fiat garage near Tesco at Chepstow who fixed our petrol hose leak, just as we arrived! Would like to come back again. Thank you for the extra special touches, much appreciated. Pub food next door good and also Moon & Sixpence at Tintern."

ANDIE & CHRISTINE | JULY '11

"Thank you for the little extra touches, flowers, wine etc, would also recommend food and welcome at local pub. Long weekend not long enough - we walked to station then Tintern Abbey and on to Devil's Pulpit and back to cottage - amazing views. However we ran out of time for canoeing so will have to come back. Climbed Yat Rock to RSPB lookout again. Fantastic scenery and saw peregrin falcon nests. Thanks."

VALERIE & IAN, BERKSHIRE | JUNE '11

"We have had just the best time here on our little honeymoon. The cottage was just perfect, the surroundings beautiful and all the places we have visited and the people we have met have been lovely. The landlord and landlady of the local so welcoming, good food (try the chocolate lumpy bumpy). Will be back for more! Thank you so very very much xxx xxx xxx. PS Visit and support HAPPA."

KAREN & PHILIP | JULY '11

"Many thanks Pete, had a wonderful stay. Beautiful surroundings - have made the most of the great weather. Will come back again."

GAVIN & LAURA | JULY '11

"Great cottage and location. Perfect weather for walking and sightseeing this week. Tintern Abbey looked amazing in the hot sun earlier this week. Caldicot and Raglan castles were great. Worth a trip to villages along the Severn for stunning views. Local pub and shop make Brockweir a well-served village but small and remote for a relaxing getaway. Loved the peaceful surroundings. Thanks for welcoming flowers and provisions. Off to the Crown at Whitebrook tonight for final evening of an excellent break. Thanks from us both."

CHERYL & TRACE, LEICESTERSHIRE | JULY '11

"Thank you for a lovely holiday. The cottage is beautiful and we were very impressed with the supplies. While we have been here we have done a number of different things. Canoeing down the Wye - Symonds Yat East. This was very relaxing and a great way to see the river. The company we went with unfortunately weren't great and we were mis-sold how much time we would need to finish the route - £69 for two canoes for 4 hours, plus £4 parking. Cycling in the Forest of Dean - good cycle paths, good value for money (£12 for 3 hours) - try and go off the route they recommended for a longer route and nice lakes. Clearwell Mines - £6 to get into per person, took about an hour to walk around, useful to get a guide book for information. Waterfall country - Brecon Beacons National Park, hour and a half drive, £4 to park. We had a good 4 hour walk, scenery was amazing, need good walking boots as paths are steep. Also take raincoat and trousers as you can walk behind the waterfall which is well worth it, but you will get wet. Wye Valley Spa - £26 for a half hour massage, location was slightly dated but they were very friendly and good value for money. Vineyard - Tintern. £1.50 per person to wander around the grounds and try some wine. Friendly couple, tasty wine! Kingstone Brewery - friendly chat, nice beer. The Anchor Inn, Tintern - good food, worth booking on a friday. £85 for 3 courses plus wine for two people. Board games were well used. We had a great holiday and would recommend it to friends and family. Hope to be back again soon. Many thanks."

LINDSAY, DANIEL, GEOFF & MELISSA | JUNE '11

"Fantastic cottage, well equipped and very cosy! Location is ideal for long or short walks and something different is within an hour by car. Something for everyone! Tintern Abbey is well worth a look, the Anchor Inn does a great pint! Will def recommend to friends."

DARREN & DAWN, WILTSHIRE | MAY '11

"Thank you for a wonderful end to our honeymoon and start to my thirties! We love the location and the fact that we didn't have to get in the car, walking everywhere - the brewery, vineyard (great views from the top and not bad wine!), the long way round to Devil's Pulpit due to path closures and the Village Shop. All with a second home to come back to at the end of the day! I think we will be back again for longer to take in even more (plus I adopted Clifton at HAPPA, so I want to be back to groom him!) Thank you again. PS The Crown at Whitebrook was fantastic! We even got an extra special course for our honeymoon!"

CLARE & MATTHEW | MAY '11

"What wonderful, generous hosts you are. Your conception of the ideal retreat, realised to the finest detail. Those extra touches - the bottle of wine, fresh food, brought extra warmth and comfort. And what a location... And the great pub next door... And the Wye Valley... Thank you for it all."

OMAR & SELINA, NORTHAMPTON | JANUARY '11

"A lovely cosy cottage perfect for a long lazy weekend. We have done very little other than read books and enjoy a glass of wine by the fire. Had a nice meal in the pub next door when we couldn't be bothered to cook, though the cottage is well equipped for doing so. The only place we did go was the Llangorse climbing wall for something a bit different, though it was straight back to enjoy a hot bath and get the fire going again! Now it's Monday, I could quite happily stay on! So thank you for a lovely weekend in your cottage."

CATHERINE & RICHARD, SMETHWICK | JANUARY '11
